Two rare Kramer aluminum lefties on the 'bay now. Same seller. Very reasonably priced and very rare. First one's a DMZ 4000, walnut finish. I own a 1980 DMZ4001 in natural ash, different switches, no wood surround on PUP. Very distinctive sound with endless sustain and a bright, metallic piano-like ringing tone and clarity, they're especially useful for chordal work, tapping, or playing with a pick. Heavy as hell though: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lefty-Kramer-Dm ... 1c4bf544c5 Second one is an 80's Duke. Never seen a lefty in this cool blue finish: http://www.ebay.com/itm/111563932817?_t ... OMG! If I had an extra $1200 lying around - and this guy shipped to Canada - I'd be ALL over both of these. I have a DMZ4000 in maple. It's the bass I'm playing in my avatar photo. I love the sound of these. Very piano like and full of sustain. Great rock 'n' roll basses. I almost always fly with this bass because they are almost indestructible. (And as is outlined by my thread here - http://www.leftybassist.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=5294 - easy to fix if something goes awry.) If I had the cash, I'd buy that Duke just to use as my backup overseas. I could fit that, along with my DMZ into one gig bag and bring it as carry on. Someone should scoop these up for sure. There's been some guy trying to sell a much less impressive DMZ on eBay for over a year for $1499. |
