My first comment would be that it's not all original as the auction says. That pickguard is not original.

Yeah the "anodized " pickguard is a clear giveaway. No pictures of the bridge either.

My thought too. It appears to be in excellent condition but I would want to see the pots, solder joints, pockets, neck codes etc.

The serial number is a 78 number, which would mean it could be newer than that. That also would explain the nice condition.

I've never seen a beveled edge anodized pickguard.

Most likely a plastic faux anodized aftermarket pickguard ??

Maybe , but it looks like the edge is aluminum. Also it's a 10 hole guard with the thumb rest in the early position. Need to see the guard off to see if the original screw holes are there. If they are not present that would lead to a number of other questions. Really need to see disassembled photos. At this point everything considered price seems a bit high.

Definately a 78. The pickguard is an aftermarket Fender. It is (from what I can tell) not a plastic one. It's metal-I put the same exact one on my 78 Sunburst P bass. It's a righty guard and will work lefty as well due to no bevel. WAY overpriced! Even if it were a 76.
