Yes, it's that rarest of lefty finds. That one everyone seems to be looking for but never finding. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1976-Left-Lefty-Fender-Music-Master-Musicmaster-Short-Scale-Bass-Rare-/221504163002?pt=Guitar&hash=item3392ad4cba In basically pristine condition, second owner. Let the bidding war begin. |

I see talk of MusicMaster basses crop up regularly here and there... What made these appealing??? A certain song? A player? Who? What? Why? I don't follow. |

They play amazingly, and with that Aero pickup, sound like God's balls. I had this exact setup and loved it. Regret selling it. This one has a sloppy neck pocket it looks like, but I doubt it'll be a real issue. This is a good find. |

A few years ago, I was fortunate to pick up a 77 Musicmaster in great condition. I absolutely love it. It's so easy and silky to play, with a pick, LaBella flat wounds, and the short scale contoured Fender body. Of course I don't use it for everything. I use it when playing 'power pop' like Sloan or even Elvis Costello, Rockpile style music. I know the bass players in those bands didn't always play short scale, but I just love playing the Musicmaster for these styles. The bass makes me feel more acrobatic with my fills and runs, jumping from chord to chord. I'm so happy I have the bass and would probably never sell it. Whomever gets this one will probably love it if it's a style bass they've been searching/hoping for for a while. |

I love Musicmasters and hope to own one (or the even rarer Mustang) one day. They're so much fun to play, and so comfortable! And especially the Mustang sounds awesome, like a tiny Precision (with a really big mouth for its size) with sweeter highs. I know a guy who owns three lefty Musicmasters and a lefty Mustang and I got to play all of them. They're so cool! Personally I would prefer the later version of the Musicmaster with the bigger (and better) tuners. But from a collector's perspective the version offered here is probably the more desirable one |

It sold for $1450. Not a bad price, all things considered. Anyone here get it? |

Thankfully the price pushed out of "sorely, dangerously tempting," to "not gonna happen." for me. I've always wanted one, or a Mustang, though. |
