Kevin (Kebo) is a very well respected dealer and a good guy, who I've known since his days of working at Outlaw Guitars on Rt 22 in Greenbrook. The listing is brand new and I'd be willing to bet pics will be posted soon if it doesn't sell quickly. You could call him and ask for pics if you're seriously interested in this bass. He's an honest guy and very knowledgeable concerning vintage basses. http://kebosbassworks.com/

A post-CBS Fender for the high price of a Pre-CBS one, good luck selling that...It is going to stay there for a long time!

While I agree the price is high and I certainly wouldn't pay that , pre- CBS lefty jazzes (or P'S), if you could find one, would fetch considerably more than $9500. I'm guessing someone out there will pay close to that for a 46 year old bass. The maple cap fingerboard IMO adds somewhat to the value.

Kevin is a good guy and I'd love to support his store but I could never justify that price. Too bad, I love that look (black block/white) ever since I saw Clint Conley from Mission of Burma playing his wonderfully beaten jazz with that look.

Exactly. With all due respect to "Kevin", how do you list a rare lefty bass for over 9 grand and not bother to put up any pictures? As a general consumer who may be interested, I don't know Kevin from "Adam". ;)

It's not apathy as it may seem. The reason is because they bought the bass at a guitar show in (I think) Texas and have all their instruments bought there shipping back to NJ. It's not physically in the shop yet, but en route.

Thanks for this update andrew - will check the link from time-to-time, as I'd like to see what this bass looks like...

IMO if that's the case, you really just need to wait to list it. Look at how we're reacting... it just looks amateurish.

Here's a little background info on Kebos Bassworks for those of you who are skeptical or need reassurance. http://www.kebosbassworks.com/index.php ... &Itemid=72 Don't take my word for it,call Kevin directly. I'm sure he would be more than happy to discuss any issues you may have concerning this bass or any other matters. Sometimes you just have to be patient and wait for pics to be posted.Kevin and his crew are real busy guys, travelling all over the U.S scouting and buying basses and IMO that's a good thing for all bassists..As much as we lefty bassists like to think we are the center of the universe, we are in actuality a very small percentage of most bass retailers customer base.
