it may be an exhorbitant price, but Garrett is correct when they say it's exceedingly rare. Black and maple cap necks were custom options in those halcyon days. I've seen very very few black late 60's early 70's Strats over the years. and it looks in outstanding shape. if the ashtray cover is in fact original, that's a real nice touch. usually they got tossed in the trash right away
