I'm gonna have to jump on that WOW bandwagon too. 8-)

My first real bass was a righty Gibson EBO-L (long scale) that I had covered to "proper" lefties. That would have been 9 or so years newer than this bass.

Very cool indeed. Nice shape too.

Amazed you found that one, in Ebay it is listed as Leftie so I suspect many typical searches would not find it. My searches of Left* bass and Lefty bass did not find that one. Good thing you posted it here so many folks can see it. I agree amazing bass, bummed I have no disposal income at the moment.

Strange. It came up on both Lefty Bass & Left Bass when I searched.

Ditto on the disposable income issue.

What do we think the "market fair" price is on this? $3,300 feels HIGH.

I paid about $1,200 for a "player" worn split head stock EB-0 '70 on ebay.

Are these worth almost 3X more in this condition?

Also paid $1,400 for what, in-essence, was the 2013 re-issue of sorts w/ the SG bass w/ the gloss finish.

What is the "must have" #?

Guide me please. I want. But not at $3,000+

Sold for $3,850. As nuts as I think?

I chased it WELL north of where I should have, but flinched at the end.

What do we think it was "really" worth (although, if someone bid $3,850, as we say in the auction game, it's worth what someone is willing to pay)?

I don't think $3850 is unreasonable at all. The EB3 is an iconic bass. Maybe not a Fender, but it's rare as hen's teeth. Look at what Fenders are going for today for that time period. How many were made lefty? I'm guessing less than a dozen at most. I've only seen 2 or 3 other lefty vintage EB3s in my lifetime. (I own a '74, but that was after they changed the neck material to maple and repositioned the neck PUP for more clarity).

Agreed, vintage and rare. I'm not surprised that it sold for that price.
Wish it could have been me.
