Weird. Never even seen a righty like this.

And, if custom, why the "upside down" truss cover printing?

What do we think/know?

that's not a les paul custom.
no split-diamond inlay on the headstock? no block inlays on the fret board?
no first fret inlay? 7ply binding anyone?
and the fact that you can't see the top of the head-stock is also a concern.
also, Gibson don't stock shit with emg's, where's the original pick ups and why did he modify such an expensive instrument with cheap passive emg hz's?
more like a les paul standard. or a counterfeit.

My guess is a Gibson neck stuck into a custom made body. Definitely not an actual Gibson.

He gave me the serial # - 00786500

Which decodes as Nashville, March 2006, 200th guitar made.

Make the guitar look more or less real?

No "CS" in serial #.

It's a real Gibson neck, from a right handed bass, so it will have a serial number. One way to verify is to ask which side of the neck the side dot markers are on.

But was Gibson even making Les Paul basses in 2006? Righty or not?
