What's your take on this one guys? Does it seeem all original and legit? Not a lot of info and pics. Tuners doesn't seem to have the proper lollipop shape... http://montreal.kijiji.ca/c-acheter-et- ... Z489263818 How about the price? Tried to look into Ebay completed listings but found only right handed ones and with prices up to 1900$ |

OMG I've been looking for a Mustang forever... but I picked up a 1977 Musicmaster last fall. And it's been more than satisfying my desires to play a short-scale Fender. Hmmm. Now the temptation for this one doesn't seem so strong. Feels weird. I don't know how to react. |

The decal is a 70s one. Probably the bass is from 77, not 67. Anyway, cool bass. |

Cool finish on it, but $1400 on a Mustang is completely nuts |

I paid $800 for the last one I had, I think anything around or just under $1000 is probably fair. |

Based on my years of admittedly inadequate searching, I'd say $800 is a great deal. Every time I've just missed a Mustang bass, it's sold for between $1100-1400. That said, of course, shoot for the moon and see how close to $1000 or under you can get. That's the thing about the small lefty market... if there's no buyer at the moment, they're worthless! |

Agreed. I think $800 is low for a Mustang. You can't even get a Musicmaster for that price anymore, and Mustangs are much harder to come by. Your $1100-1400 range is fairly accurate. |

In case anyone was wondering, the bass was sold within 2 days of posting (and no, not to me)... The "what it's worth" factor on vintage stuff is all about supply/ demand ratio and current market conditions. It's been evident for a quite while that the number of folks desiring to own a lefty Fender Mustang in any reasonable condition is exceeding supply (how often do you see one at all, in any condition?) so taking into account that the bass in question appeared to be all original and in good condition, I'd say $1400 was not surprising, and probably could have gone for more than that more if it had gotten wider exposure.

Agreed. And I'm still wondering how I missed it. None of my alerts ever mentioned this one. I had no idea it was for sale until this post, which was quite a while after it was put up for sale. |
