Hard to believe that this bass is offered for buy it now for $1799 and no takers. I have several Fenders, including a 78 Jazz just like this one. I would buy it in a second except I am saving for my second Pre-CBS Fender. I think adding the J pickup detracts from its value. Also anything late 70's to early 80's can be something of a crapshoot because of the weight; I have a '77 that's a little heavier than my other instruments but sounds great and is comfortable; I once had a '78 that was so heavy it wasn't even good for playing scales in my living room. |

Seller is somewhat local to me. I guess he feels its worth the dough and stated he sold another P for 1500 that was in worse condition..... but cant call me. There is a P bass on guitarcenter.com used site for 1100. They cant even sell it. Economy is up or down.... ? I would like to see this P for relaying to others here but don't think a meeting will happen. |
