Wow, that's sexy! :P

Gotta love the seller's sales blurb: "This is a real treat for any south paw looking to gain a nice punching tone. . . "

That's exactly what I want, a punching tone! ;)

Nice! :o

That "Jazz Bass" logo tho.... Makes it look like a Frankenbass. I have never seen that on a custom shop before.

What color is it? I can't figure it out.

Dennis Galuszka has also built my beloved 66' JB - he knows what he's doing

The logo looks strange - he has done sth. like that on my bass too

Looks like vintage white. I had a '75 a few years ago. I can't remember if it just had the Fender script and nothing else (like early 70s lefties had) or if it has the fender script and the simple block 'jazz bass' font. In any case, I don't remember that being the correct logo for a lefty 70s Jazz.

I also don't think that Fender ever did the proper decal on lefties' headstocks until 1977 (?), that's why it looks weird, but that's the way it should have been done back in the day, a decal similar to the right-handed bass. As far as I know, Fender always used just the simple "Fender" decal since day one, until 1977 (?), when they started putting the full decal on lefty Jazz and P basses.

It looks weird, but I'm guessing they are now saying, "okay, sorry, this is the way it should had been done, and because you are paying $5000 for a Jazz Bass, we are giving you the proper, full decal. . . " Thank you, Dennis.

No they did lefty basses similar to this in the 60s. That '60 stack knob that used to belong to Joey Long is a good example

You're right. I guess the correct observation is that "most" Fender had only the "Fender" decal until 1977 or so.

Matt, you no longer have that white Jazz with the maple board and pearl blocks? I've been meaning to ask you for close up pics because I love that color combo and have toyed with getting my '76 Jazz refinished.

Was yours original or refinished?

I love how the light finishes (oly, vintage white, white trans, butterscotch) match up with the pearl blocks on the maple board, a la:

Good catch!

To bad it's got a fairly high starting bid price. A few years ago I won a '79 P Bass (siennaburst) for $600 because the seller didn't include "lefty" or "lefthanded" in the title.

Oh clawd have mercy, yessir I still have that bass. I'll just state for the record that my '74 Jazz will probably be buried with me. Mine is all original. Olympic white, but it's a lovely shade of nicotine yellow. It's quite a machine.

Matt, was the color change due to constant polishing with Mystic Chocolat?

I like how Joe Long's headstock decal was placed.

Checked out the bass in the ebay link.

Nice.

Very fascinated by the logo discussion. I like the logo whether correct or not.

But the reason I'm chiming in on this has to do with the case...

(I'm a former master-built CS owner FWIW)

Why in the world can't the CS provide a real lefty case?????

I mean, come one (!), aren't these selling new for 5g's + now?

Lame.

Gorgeous bass, but 5K? If I was gonna drop that kind of cash on a new bass I'd go get a custom MTD or something. I just don't see how much more I'd get out of this than I already get from my other Jazz basses that were a fraction of the cost.
