I've been stumbling upon various basses made by a T Davis on eBay lately. I'm not quite sure what to think of them, they look a bit odd and I always get the impression that this T Davis doesn't know an awful lot about setting up a bass... This one (the bodyshape is very similar to an Ibanez ATK) looks like the bridge was just taken out of the package and bolted to the body without any adjustments made: http://www.ebay.com/itm/T-Davis-Custom- ... 416fea50d9 Otherwise looks quite nice though, aside from the headstock shape and the rough edges of the pickup routings, although I do get the impression the pickups were positioned randomly. Not much thought was put in picking the right distance towards the bridge. This one (looks very similar to a Schecter Stiletto) has monorail bridge parts, installed at the wrong angle and probably impossible to correctly set up the intonation: http://www.ebay.com/itm/T-Davis-Custom- ... 416fccc350 How can anyone who knows a thing about bass building create anything like this? I checked his feedback, and he's recently sold a lefty Ibanez PGB1 and a lefty Schecter Stiletto Extreme that I suppose he used as templates for these two creations. |

Are those neck joints, or is that where I'm supposed to swipe my credit card? |

Nothing like right hand compensation on a lefty bass. I wonder if this guy worked for Kala. |

Addison wrote: Are those neck joints, or is that where I'm supposed to swipe my credit card? They are pick holders..... why use tape on the mike stand when you can rack em up on the bass? |

The non- countersunk brass flat head home Depot pickup mounting screws are a nice touch. |

What you don't see in the pics is that the nut is so crooked in the opposite direction that it balances out the bridge placement. |

I contacted the seller (professionally) on this issue. He said he made a mistake and its fixed now. I just noticed the listing was pulled. Um, how can you fix this...?

Actually that bridge would work for me, but the bass doesn't do anything for me. |

Our friend is back with another lefty, again based on a Schecter bodyshape. No misaligned monorail bridge this time. The string ferrules are misaligned though, but not that bad. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/T-Davis-Custo ... 41746a46ca |

to bad the joint overlaps the neck. and I mean that as OVER-overlaps. I wonder if his righties are just as bad. |

Besides the lack of common sense and lack of workmanship is the fact that he insinuates these are custom-made basses in the USA, when in fact he's using cheap Asian-made parts as the starting point for these "creations." Shameful at best. There is another dude doing something similar, assembling lefty basses from cheap Asian parts and giving them stellar setups and fret jobs -- but that guy is up front, and his prices are very fair. |
