That body looks suspicious. Looks like ash with a sunburst? Rare. Also, 1978 was heavy-poly times - the arm wear makes is look like a nitro finish. . . Maybe it's a refinished ash body in nitro? |

My '78 Precision has similar wear. It's definitely heavy poly too. Was probably someone's main axe and they played the shit out of it. |

That finish cracking on the skunk stripe could be more than cosmetic. I've seen a truss rod start to force it's way out of the back of the neck on a P bass that age. |

On my '75 P-Bass there's similar finish cracking on the skunk stripe, though much less than on that '78 Jazz. |
