That's what I was thinking. The addition of the aftermarket J pickup does affect the vintage re-sale value, I'm just not sure by how much. 2 Grand for that bass is not bad. I have a 72 P bass that I had the same work done to years ago. In fact, one of the members here (LHBASSIST) did the work for me. He used to do all my bass work (as well as pretty much everyone in town) back in the 80's. Great luthier and an amazing bassist.

Too high, IMO, for a refinish and a routed J PUP added. And geez, if you"re gonna add a J PUP, get it right! That positioning is way too far back near the bridge, (compare to a standard Jazz), which probably gives it a very honky thin tone soloed.
