...but that price is criminally insane!
It's an original neck, mated to a custom body made by Ed Roman who mirrorred the original righthanded body.

Quote:
The Story:

I purchased a Right-Handed Marathon 6 back in 2006, I believe. From there, Body and neck was sent off to Ed Roman Guitars in Las Vegas.
The Body was copied for me and I chose to use Swamp Ash wood ($550), which is heavy, but gives the most kick-a** bright tone, even when it's not plugged in. It was then finished with Gloss Black Poly ($350)
The Neck was re-fretted ($320) AND re-finished ($400).
A Dead-Accurate Clear PERSPEX Pickguard ($100) and Control-Plate ($100) were fashioned.
The "Shergold Marathon Hand Crafted London" Decal ($97.00) was made up, which I applied upon receiving the instrument back in New York.
A Left-Handed Fender Bass VI G&G Case was then Custom Made (200.00) so that I'd have something to put it in.

Then, of course, I ordered Three Sets of Custom Made Strings from Newtone (83.08 GBP = $128.07) So that I could play it properly. (Bass VI Strings are too thin to make this thing do as it's supposed to in my opinion).

Total: 1925.07 NOT including the initial cost of the RIghty (plus shipping this thing all over).

And of the "classic Bass VI principle" is a take on the classic Danelectro principle. ;)
I noticed that listing awhile back, the price is insane.

Having had my own dealings with Ed Roman in the past (the bass in my avatar was built by Ed) I'm not surprised at the fees they charged this guy with. Beautiful guitar, but worth the price? Only is someone is willing to buy-in to the description....
