I had two of those, and the necks are wide, 1.75" at the nut. I hated the way they sounded, and hated the way the neck felt. At the time, they were the only quality lefty basses available locally, so I put up with them until the moment Fender Japan started making lefty jazzes.

I've got an '83 Elite version of that P (active with 2 P PUPs). The neck is the same as these - a huge wide C profile, but I happen to love it. Took some getting used to coming from a J, but I'm finding definite benefits to wider necks these days. I can't speak for the passive model here, but the Elite series are some of the best under-appreciated basses Fender ever made, IMO.

Anyway i don't see that often lefty 80s Fender Basses (from the 83-88 era) for sale on ebay.

Maybe they don't exist at all or they sound better than their 70s counterparts ?

Not only are the necks wide, but fingerboard radius is flat. I believe 12" for that era.
