After seeing Rhonda Smith bowing one of these with Jeffery Beckery last week I think this is a very sweet sounding instrument. Both plucked and bowed.

I owned a 4 string a few years back and found it to be way over rated. But I was a rookie upright player at the time, so it may have been user error! :)
