I could'nt agree more Pete. I love the way Rics look. They're among my top favorite basses for design. I just can't stand the way they feel and/or play. I've owned several and always wind up selling them off because I don't play them. I bought one last year for a recording project that I was hired for and after the record was done the bass sat in my studio for months. I finally sold it to someone who will actually enjoy it. Too bad, they're very cool basses. I just can't get used to them.

I'm with you. I love how they look and sound, but they feel like a pair of tight shoes. Fender feel like fluffy slipper in comparison. I had two of them maybe 3 years ago, and I would get compliments on the sound and looks from everybody at shows all the time, more than on any other bass I've played, and I sold them for $2400 each. . .

So, Ric still hold their value, but the used market is simply shattered, and nobody is buying anything unless it's a bargain.

That blue one on eBay looks bad: the action looks pretty high. So if it just got a setup, like the seller so obnoxiously write in big red letter, why in the world is the action so high. . .? Last thing you want is a Ric with a bent neck.
