A little steep on the price but here they are only one color (FireGlo).

is $2,699.99 from a MSRP of $3,149.00

You can place an order for it by clicking this link:

Interesting that they even have lefties available.

But, for that price they can keep it.

I agree, a bit pricey, but the 4001C64 would be pricier than a standard 4003 because it's got the horseshoe and toaster PUP combo that you can't get on any other bass.

I thought people here would be happy that RIC is making lefties again at all after the slagging they usually get for having stopped doing so. Also, IMHO the price seems OK for a new instrument considering the bananas pricing that we've all made fun of for used RICs on Ebay. No more overpriced than any other new RIC surely...

I'd be willing to bet that if you did place that order, MF will end up cancelling it. According to Ric, it's a discontiniued model. And AFAIK, ric has no plans to make lefty in calendar year 2011.

Of course, you could buy it and probably resell it on the bay for a $1000 profit. just sayin' ....

maybe. it's also faintly possible that it is an old order fulfillment, but AFAIK those were all completed in '09. I really doubt Ric would tool up for 1 lefty back order tho.

The sales guy is the son of John Hall, who is also the production manager. Sorry, but I forget his first name. He recently told Jerry of Jerrysleftyguitars that all plans for lefty production in 2011 have been cancelled.

They only fulfill the scam if people buy their stuff otherwise they aren't really scammers, so who really is to blame?
