Cool, but I am getting so tired of the word "vintage".

I know that leftyloser is on this board, and he probably hates me for ripping on his prices from that kramer auction...uh, but this one is no different. you guys have classified me as the cheapskate lefty for a reason....he can sell it to someone else. I wonder if that thing was made by the Larrivee company that is around today, and even if it was..300? nope, not for me. I don't care about overspending on anything I want, but not on a krummy korean junk bass.

I paid 50.00 for this series10 took it out of the box broke the headstock on the first day never played it, and then sent it to my friend in Philly to fix it and repaint it using my parts and gave him a BCR Ironbird as payment. My point is the first dollar I spent on it I overspent on it's "zero value" but it is what I like (P/HB active) like my Charvel.

and here it is in action:
( forgive the boomyness - camcorder mics live recording )

.
plus, I just bought that Jackson lefty Futura and I'm done buying for a while unless it is something I'm really interested in.
p.s. did you all see the goof trying to get 595.00 EACH for his lefty Kramer plywood 700ST's?

one of these days I'll break down, sell 5-6 of my rightys and have Rod build me a REALLY nice custom.

I'd do just that. Rod will have fun building one of those "pointy" headstocks

since it would be off his radar since most of his stuff is traditional, I'm sure he would have fun doing it.

but that series10 beakhead won't be used as a template...let the bently company ( St Louis Music )..die with honor.

Yes, the company that today is known for it's acoustic guitars from Vancouver Canada. They also made basses and electric guitars in the 80's and 90's.
Canadian made bass for $300 isn't bad imo.

I'm not arguing the fact it is Canadian, I'm arguing the fact it's 20 something years old and he still wants 300 for it.
MANY NICKS SCRATCHES AND DINGS
THE BACK PLATE LOOKS TO HAVE BEEN BROKEN OR REPAIRED AT ONE TIME

for 3bills I'll keep the money in the bank and add another 1000 for a REGEN custom

I'd rather pay 300 for another Charvel. At least I know what I'm getting.
I'm at the point now back to 14 basses in the house, and even my champagne Charvel I never use may go on the auction block soon.

I'll ask here first if it does get sold before I put it on ebay as with any of the other leftys I just don't use or need anymore.

Didn't take it as you were.

You have plenty of good reasons why this bass isn't for you, all I'm saying is in general $300 for a Canadian made bass is a good deal.

An instrument's "worth" is based on whatever the market's willing to bear. If there's no market for these or if he gets no takers at his current price then he may decide to lower it. But what did these basses retail for back in the 80's? I'm guessing somewhere in the $700 range? Since this is a very rare instrument and chances are you're unlikely to find another lefty I personally don't think it's unreasonable to be asking $300 for it either. But keep in mind my opinion is coming from someone who's yet to justify paying over $2000 for ANY bass. ;^)

a fair conclusion PJ :)

I suppose if that Larravee is rare enough, someone will recognize it for that and despite the condition will buy it for his price.
