I'd be more impressed if it actually were a lefty. I like the 'ole slot heads though. |

As a lefty bassist, and a bass repairman since 1968, I can assure you guys and gals that this is a mistake by Gibson, verifying that bass as a '68. A friend of mine had a brand new EB-3 in '68, a cherry red one. I loved it, played it upside down (of course) at his house. It had a solid headstock. The bass pictured on Ebay, brown finish, slotted head stock, was probably an early- to mid 70's instrument. |

I played right handed EB3s for so many years, I gotta admit the thought of doing something like this crossed my darkest thoughts a few times... 1968 would be a stretch. As the lucky skunk that owns a lefty EB0, EB3, and EB3L, I can tell you I've done a lot of research on these. It's pretty well documented that the slotted headstock basses were made from late 1969 until mid/late 1971, with the EB3 introduced in 1969 and long scale EB3L added in 1970. |
