This seems to be another oddity for lefties' Fender. The neckplate with the serial number is exactly like my 75 P-Bass. Is the body was made earlier? Since it is a lefty,did they built it the old way? I have a 1976 Jazz and it is like it is supposed to be : serial # on the headstock,3 holes. Is it a scam in the grey zone? I don't know. It does look nice. |

It's odd to see a bullet truss rod neck on a 4 bolt body. Odd, but not impossible, I guess. I'd like to see pics of the neck heel, though. |

sent questions to seller about the pups and if the neck was repaired with a four bolt plate,seems odd there is no clear photo of the neck joint or without any pics of the bass without the covers in this price range,this guys sells lots of musical instruments.ill post his answers if and when i get some. |

Actually my feeling is that neck is a P-Bass neck that's been refurbished as a Jazz neck. ???? Just a thought |

Does anyone know where/how to check a Fender instrument serial number? I agree, to be consistant with the era it should be 3 holes neck but then again we know the inconsistency of Fender during those times. Regarding the weigh, it seems that Fender used a lot of ash in the 70's. It is often heavy (but not always) but it sounds killer on a Jazz Bass. The bridge pickup should be closer to the bridge too. |

http://www.fender.com/support/articles. ... uct-dating But to be really sure, the one way to go is to take off the neck and check the date stamps on the heel on both the neck and the body. |

7,500 for a 1975 jazz bass! boy chicago music exchange shoots for the stars with their prices! i purchased one exactly like it for 1,500 off craigslist,all original but is HEAVY! but sounds and plays fantastic, the black one on the bay now states that it is sold, someone got a nice bass regardless. |
