. This one looks Taylor-made (or should I say Larrivee made ) for you, amimbari. Never seen one of these before, but if the quality's as good as their acoustic guitars then this could be a nice sleeper: http://cgi.ebay.com/Larrivee-left-hande ... 3cb401f9e2 |

This may, I stress the word MAY, have been one of my old basses. At one time in the mid 80's I had 3 Larrivees. I remember, somewhat vaguely now, I was on the road in Northern Alberta and had the urge to rip the frets out of one. Thus was born my first fretless. That was not this one however. Anyway, I had a black one, a fretted white one, and a burgundy-ish one. I think I ripped the frets out of the burgundy one. This black one would have been a stock fretless. ...and for the amusement of everybody here, a shot of me playing my white one in 1986 at the famous Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver. Unfortunately you can't make out the body shape that well against the background of the white tux. But it's the same as the black one. Please be kind, it WAS the 80's.

I suppose I should actually comment on the bass. LOL In regards to your comment PJ, these basses were not of the same caliber as the high end Larrivee acoustics. I would call them somewhat average. I got rid of all of them and moved on to better things. I also decided I didn't like the look of the headstock. But that's simply a matter of taste. |

I was told that Jean Larrivee himself is a lefty. I like his acoustic guitars. |

In fact, you're nearly the spitting image of myself so many years ago! C-FOX !!!!!! wow, i remember when their studios used to occupy the 2nd floor of a stand alone CIBC (bank) building. I used to ride my bicycle past it every day on the way to the mall as a kid. I'm kinda amazed they sponsored an event clear across the country tho. |

For Larrivee being a lefty, they ironically would not make a lefty version of their symmetrical acoustic bass a few years back. |

C-FOX was a Vancouver radio station and the event was in Vancouver. Spotlight 86 was a battle of the bands kind of thing in 1986. |
