I actually really liked mine (I don't have it now) and this one seems to have some nice appointments/improvements for the price. |

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ECbPeAD8 ... re=related He plays it towards the end, I feel this is much more fair than the other video as that other vid features Steve Wishevsky playing who is not a bass player. He was just messing around. |

He was just messing around. This video is more fair? The bass the guy in the video you posted has was literally unplayable until he spent hundreds of dollars in tools and countless hours of work to get it that way... that doesn't sound like a very good review to me at all. |

I think spending money for a setup / epoxy on a fingerboard is not out of the question for a bass. He said he basically had a setup and the fretboard epoxyed, right? |

No... he said he had to completely refinish the bass, rebuild the bridge saddle (it was twice as high as it should have been), and he even bought special tools to reshape the neck (thickest neck he ever played) and then had to take a severe hump out of the fingerboard, that made the bass unplayable. Watch the video again... he goes into detail about everythnig he had to do to get it to play like that. |

My apologies, I sort of just fast forwarded to the playing part At any rate, there's lots of videos of playable Wishnevsky's online. It could be a cool bass if you put a little extra $$ into it? |

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g_u35sHICjE I love the comments on the first video: "Why does the bass sound like a cow?" "I'd hire them for my divorce" |

Hopefully, Mr. Wishevsky's (sp) building prowess has improved over the last few years since he made #88. |

just decided to look at it again and I must say the Wishnevsky headstocks are ugly. Also I am not a fan of the knobs. I actually don't think the body looks that bad |

I can only imagine how difficult it must be to run a successful business, but for cryin' out loud common sense would dictate that if you're trying to entice people to consider your instruments AND you don't have a clue how to play, then GET A BASSIST TO DEMO YOUR INSTRUMENTS! |
