Well, I own a Jazz Bass and a Stingray and as we all know it, the Stingray's neck is a baseball bat (by the way, viva SF Giants!) pretty similiar to a P-bass' neck. He possibly owns a Sterling which does have a Jazz Bass size neck. If I recall the Stingray and the G&L L2000' necks are pretty much identical.
No need to venture into dubious explainations when you sell a good instrument for the right price...

I don't see what the problem is. I've owned several G&L's and several Stingrays. The standard L-2000 neck is fat and clunky, while the Stingray's are very nice and thin. Jazz basses are even thinner, but a Ray is definitely thinner than an L-2000. A Stingray is 1 5/8" at the nut, and an L-2000 is 1 3/4". The L-2000 is fatter front-to-back, too, but I never measured that part. hell, I think even the frets were bigger on my L-2000.....it was a bitch to play, and I'm glad I sold it.

Yes, the Ray's neck is a bit slimmer than the G&L. Btw, I'm pretty sure the neck on the L2K was the #7 modern "C" neck with the 12" radius.

Nothing dubious at all. The seller was a nice guy, and yes, he did have small hands.

Would love to get one some day, I think they're incredible basses. I can get around on just about any neck, as long as it isn't a Wishbass (which are way beyond baseball bat, because the guy refuses to use trussrods or any other type of reinforcement). I loved the neck on the Tribute L2000's I've played, and the tone and versatility

Btw, I always liked the neck on this bass. Probably because of the satin finish. Also, the fretboard is rosewood, but it almost looks and feels like ebony. Very dark and dense - nothing like the soft rosewood I've gotten on some Fenders.
