Looks great, but maybe a bit pricey considering condition .?.?

Sigh. Typical Fender 70's quality. Check out that neck's body route compared to the neck heel. The body's sticking way out beyond the neck heel on the G string side.

And yes, $3000 is WAY overpriced.

Well heck, I guess we'll all just wait 30 days for the .99 cent No Reserve auction.

Fellow lefties - I am starting to scratch my head in wonderment over the prices I am starting to see for vintage lefty instruments. I have snagged over the last 8 or 10 years a few vintage lefties for significantly less than the righty offered prices. I had always understood that the lefty market sold "under" the righty market prices as collectors weren't interested in lefties leaving only the lefty players to bid the market price. Since there is, relatively speaking, only a few lefty players the prices stayed low compared to similar righty basses. Any insight on what is happening now? Are collectors starting to grab lefties? Are more lefties starting to play bass? ....? .....? Fat Old Man

I guess it's not that .... IMO the fact is the more and more increasing number of bass players (so both lefty and righty) who realize the effective tone difference between modern and (so called) "vintage" basses, and search for a good sounding bass ...

So ... about this bass ... not sure at all ... but reminds me of the lefty mocha brown sold about two years ago from soutpawguitars ...

That bass is over priced for its condition, I paid a grand less than that for a 75 in excellent condition just a few years a go.

What he's asking for and what he'll get are two different things. My guess is he'll end up getting about half of what he's asking.

+1
Now that folks think the global recession is over, I'm thinking they are trying to make up ground by inflating prices on lefty instruments in general (not just basses). For instance folks have noticed the prices righty 70's Fender guitars are commanding in general and are putting a 'premium' on lefty gear
