man, the world sure is full of lefty basses that someone decided to flip to play righty. I've seen a helluva lotta basses with a tell-tale strap button hole in the lower horn.
So that's usually the case when you see the hole re-drilled like that? I thought maybe there was some connection between the re-drilled hole and the long chip out of the back that seems to start right at that point. But that is a good red flag to watch for. If it's been used as a righty I'd want to make sure they haven't also reversed the nut and bridge at some point and then turned them back. That would make the bass a lot less attractive to me.
I do run into righty players that want to try my bass all the time. Many seem to have a fascination with it. Irritating when some ace righty tries it out and then after a minute or 2 he plays it as as well or better than I do
