I just stopped by Guitar Showcase and saw a giant truck out back unloading all Steve Miller's road gear. Man, that was a the 3rd load from the road guys. SOOO much gear. The bassist was a righty as he had a 6 string Modulus in a road case. This one came off the truck and I opened the case. I do remember Steve having a black lefty bassist and the bass inside Showcase was a left handed 5 string. It was on the floor. The asking price tag was $2500. not $1700. I played it. It was ok but an older one (90's early 00) and had the older EMG DC 40's and 3 knob configuration. The body was lighter and neck dove a bit. There also was some finish checking (light cracks) probably from the road. One o ther guys there did mention maybe they should lower the price $500ish. Even at that price I thought it was high. It was on consignment there. Blue Quilt to Black top, Black back and graphite neck. The nut was about 2" (pretty wide) and string spacing on that guy was like 17.0-17.5. It was tight.
Just my 10 min evaluation... I was more interested in seeing the vintage amps and guitars Steve had for sale but didn't stay long enough.
