It also kind of turns me off when sellers are like, "I COULD SELL THE CASE ALONE ON THIS THING FOR A MILLION DOLLARS!@1!!!! IT'S THAT AWESOMETACULALR AND WORTH SO MUCH MONEY AND RARER THAN DINOSAURSSS!!@!!@!@" :lol:

I mean... I understand the guy wants to sell the thing, but anyone who is going to be serious about ponying up that much cash for a used instrument is going to have a pretty good idea as to what they're buying.

He's gonna be real pissed off if John Hall ever decides to build lefties again and the resale market drops by 1/2

Insane.

This makes me really consider selling my '79. I can't think of another brand that's appreciated in value as much as a Rick in recent years.

Faggitabout Macca, it's all supply and demand. ain't no supply, so you can demand near-astronomical prices. Can you imagine what they'd be worth if the 'official policy' became "We will no longer make lefty basses"?

Lefty 4001s are becoming too much expensive. But you know maybe it's better to pay 3000 or more $$ for a vintage rather than waiting two and more years and not being sure of the result.

Seeing how the market goes i think that soon i'll sell my 75 4001 too to buy a new house :lol:
