Read a couple of press releases today regarding a new neck thru single cutaway Thumb bass as well as two lower priced Rockbass versions of their Alien bass. The Alien Deluxe might interest me, as I've heard these are one of the better sounding acoustic basses out there and a budget priced one might be worth taking the plunge. In the picture the Deluxe appears to be deeper/fatter than the Standard too, though there's no specs indicated regarding the depth dimension.

No prices indicated, but there's no upcharge for lefties. There is a blurb at the bottom of each press release indicating that orders could take 6-9 months, however, so hopefully they'll just produce some lefties for the market sooner than later.

We want you to know in an attempt to serve you better you now have to wait 2 to 3 times as long is that cool??? Well it is really better than shutting down and people loosing their jobs. Guess this global economy is crappy there too. I love Warwick and I'm glad to see them doing new cool stuff even though neither of those basses do it for me it is still cool companies investing in us lefties. By the way when I ordered my first Jazzman new back in 98 or 99 it took 7 month then too. Felt like 7 years! Was $1,400 new then and my last one I just bought new I paid $2,400 and that was a deal from from Jerry's Left Hand Guitars in Florida. Cool dude by the way.

Jerry is an outstanding guy to work with, i would not hesitate for a second to recommend him to anyone here.

Yup that's the one and it blows the pictures away. Jerry had it from "05" as new and it didn't sell. I bought it last year about 6 months ago as old but new stock at a discount. The Jazzman sounds so good!
His sight is good but he is not easy to find I actually stumbled on it looking for Warwick Jazzman Corvette or Streamer and found it that way. Now I can't remember exactly but I think it was $2,400 or $2,500 with a hard case shipped. He packed it extremely well and it was set up pretty well too. Now I did not get the wax or the tools from Warwick but I have all that crap anyway from my other Warwicks I have and I would rather have a hard shell case. Jerry was easy to work with and a stand up guy for sure. He deserves a plug.
I can't pass up an opportunity to show off the twins! Sorry my office/studio is so cramped I had to jam it all together. I have to finish off my basement and move downstairs into my "man-cave" If I would stop buying gear for a year I could afford it.

Here's the Thumb Single Cut 5 NT LEFTY on the Warwick web site custom gallery. I may be wrong but this bass may be available for purchase as they're soliciting inquiries on the page for this beast. Looks pretty cool.

From what I can tell, all of the Custom Shop gallery instruments have an "Inquiries" option. There's also a "Customer Name" listed for each one as well.

For the lefty Thumb SC, it says "SMI" so I'll guess that it's spoken for in one way or another... "________ Musical Instruments" maybe?

Could be a special order through a dealer somewhere... who knows.

Those are two of my Wicks above in my overly crowded office/studio/mancave I have owned others including a thumb 5 BO. I have replaced tuners with Hipshot Ultralites and they have always reduced neck dive to nothing and also in my opinion being my favorite tuners of all time anyway.

I'll probably get flamed for this, but it looks hideous to me. I have to admit I've never been a Warwick fan (except for their NS-4 and EB-2 copies) , but this one's so ugly I have a hard time believing it made it to production.

I am a huge Warwick fan but I hate single cut basses from anyone. The only place on the neck I truly love putting my thumb over the edge of the fingerboard is above the 12th fret. I also think it's ugly and stupid but Warwick makes many basses for us lefties and that is a cool thing. At least it's not another Fender Jazz rip-off because that's just not been done enough yet...
I think many basses guys here go gaga over are terrible looking and sounding but it's cool that we have so many choices. Might look better in a righty version as I think it shouldn't matter but some basses that look great righty look not so good on us...

On the topic of Warwick and their support for lefties, I have just bought a Streamer Stage 1 4-string with a broken headstock as a project bass. Other than the obvious problem of the headstock it's a REALLY nice bass. Depending on the results of the repair which is setting right now (I've been told it should be 100% if done properly), I may post some pics.

My point tho, is when I went on to Warwick's web site to shop for some replacement parts (new nut, new bridge, etc.) I noticed that they provide a very good number of parts in lefty versions.

Very cool! I have some new parts on the way from Germany right now. Love their basses or hate them, it seems that few major builders provide that level of support for lefties. Kudos to Warwick.

Yes, Warwick is an excellent innovative company, and have always been great lefty supporters. Neck profiles and/or tones aside, I have the highest respect for them. Their quality seems to be excellent at every level too, as there was a lefty fretless 5 string Rock Bass Corvette at NAMM that I got to play that really impressed me, with a street price around $650 I believe.

Just wanted to interject something about the neck profiles of the new Warwicks coming out of Germany If you want that baseball bat neck that they became known for you actually have to special order it. The new models have the thinnest necks of any bass around. They are almost as thin as the Pedula Pentabuz neck I used to own. It’s now the complete opposite. I had to order a replacement neck for a Double Buck I have and when I got it I was blown away it’s like my guitar player PRS custom.
Tone is a different matter though. I love their tones of almost all the models but I'm not a traditionalist either. I would rather leave a trail than follow a path.

I'm glad to hear about the thinner necks. As for tone, I don't care about traditions, or blazing a path. I have always had a tone in my head that I wanted, and that's the tone I will get, or bye-bye bass.

Me too. I've mentioned the problems with the neck on my Thumb in another thread. I'm pretty sure it's gonna need replacing, and if the new neck does come through with the thinner profile then bring it on as far as I'm concerned. My only slight concern would be that the massive hunk of Wenge that was used originally must surely be contributing something to that great tone - I'd worry about losing some of that I think.
