I miss my L2000 (one of only a few regrets), my L2000 and my Peavey Amp used to draw so many compliments on how great the bass sounded. If I ever see my old 2000 again I would buy it in a heartbeat.

So these bases are one of the most under rated basses.

I own an L 2000 Tribute, that has much of the same hardware that the U.S models have, made in Indonesia- as you all know. That bass just kills. Tones for days, cuts through in the mix like nothing else. Natural ash, and I got a great deal, as it was a factory second- and as a Luthier, I found out why, fixed the issue, and it's in my rotation now.
If I were buying, instead of trying to sell off my collection, that G&L would be something I'd consider.

As much as I miss my '81 SB1, those stupid headstocks are a deal-breaker for me.

The serial # on the headstock and back neck plate are different. Parts bass?
