A great travel bass... most likely light-weight for those with bad backs, and small hands...

Along the road I've owned 3 of the Squier version and also played zecacosta's Fender and nicusa's Fender. Squier and Fender where made in the same plant with same everything, only thing that changed was the waterslide logo. They have the gold Fender logo with SN under and I guess they where only made in 85 and 86! They also have a slightly smaller body and pickguard.

Ah, so you're saying that every MIJ Fender P from 1985 and 1986 (w gold logo and SN under) is 32" scale?

When did the MIJ Fender start production on the 34" scale Precision?

Not sure if "every one" but the 34" have black logo or no SN under the logo. Also if you look at the tuners, they are more rounded at the base, all 32" came with them. I suspect 34" started around 83/84?
I bet Carmine would know better!

This is definitely the 32 scale version also the body is smaller.
Awesome basses only offered 1985 and 1986 as left handed version in black and arctic white.
I have a white one
If this would be based in Europe I would asap buy it.
You never get a medium scale case by the way that’s super rare
But the fender short scale 610 gigbag also perfectly fits to this bass as I found out

I owned 2 of these back in the late 80's. One had a flamed maple neck. I wish I still had it. That was super rare. Yea, they were only offered 85/86-ish then disappeared. They are as listed 32" scale and smaller body/pickguard. I have NEVER seen a smaller fitted case like this. Mine were in normal hard cases.

Someone should snag this.. BBL?
