Wow beautiful. But super pricy. I mean two years ago there was this NOS case queen Telecaster sold for 6000 USD, I thought at that time already this is a lot money, but the prices these days…. Sold already, anyone here bought it? |

On a P-bass, does anyone prefer the sound of the solo single-coil p/u over the split P? |

I do. I had a custom shop fender Tele 1955 lefty, so Stings Bass and I loved it more than any P-Bass |

Same here. I have a master built custom shop 55. That is my main player. Best sounding bass I I've owned. That said I wouldn't necessarily attribute that to just the pick up. There's the single coil hum to consider, but it doesn't get in my way. Love the bass. Since I got it all my other basses live in their cases which need a good dusting. |

I had a 71 Tele bass, I can see why it sold so quick as they are very rare and I suspect on many folks want list. However when I had my bass I loved the look and feel but the sound just did NOT do it for me, maybe I did not spend enough time finding the right amp setting but I never got "That" should I wanted but still the cool factor made a great bass to gig out with. |

I also own a '71 Tele bass. Bought it from Southpaw Guitars 20?! years ago. The only other lefties I've seen were also from '71, making me wonder if all can be pinpointed to a single lefty run that year (Like the '80 lefty Stingrays). Mine has a June 71 date on the neck. If I had to compare the sound to a standard split coil P, I'd say the single coil Teles are brighter, grittier, and more aggressive sounding when fully open. Roll the tone back and you can get in the standard P bass territory, though not as much of that classic low mid hump. |

I have a 68 that I bought about 8 years ago. The heal is stamped 23 June 68. I've seen a few righties with the same stamp. I got it through a dealer who bought it from the original owners son. The father and son were from Canada. |

bobjones2260, pjmuck, crescenze, what do you think about opening a Lefty Fender Telecaster Bass topic under " Lefty Bass Photo Gallery" and show each other the hot stuff? |

That would be cool. I haven't posted pics here before and I'd have to get some together, but I'd be willing to give it a try. |
