That's wild! I read up on these instruments. Apparently they're tuned an octave higher than normal. But they somehow use standard gauge strings. Not sure how that works. And, they offer an electronics option with a built in EH POG to recapture your low register again and more. This lefty doesn't have it, but maybe it could be installed after? |

I first heard about these on Basschat.co.uk, where a few people have one. They look like so much fun! One of the site admins there has one equipped with a hexaphonic pickup, MIDI controls and a built-in TC Polytune Clip and it's pretty wild. And it fits in a laptop stand. Several other luthiers have jumbed on the bandwagon too. Here's something similar by a Malaysian luthier called the Miezo. This one even has a built-in headphone amp alongside the Aguilar OBP-3: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VpdIIe5L_SM Attachment: 99FE2388-6D97-43ED-BC50-EC88D9600D50.thumb.jpeg.d8b26499286d7950e6525cc9cb91795b.jpeg [ 78.43 KiB | Viewed 2220 times ] |

Here's an Italian bassist giving a good review... and for the low end, he uses an Aguilar Octamizer... sounds nice.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4JXZ1p8dSCM |
