Haven't seen one of these in a while. Needs a new nut:

Considering how rare ATK's are these days, and how long it is between sightings/sales... I'm not surprised by the asking price of $689... makes me wonder what I could ask for my ATK305L..... 8-)

But, considering how good the overall condition of the bass is, I have to wonder how-the-Hell the playing style of a former owner managed to carve such deep grooves in the pickup lines... that's some Serious Wear!

I guess he liked his action super low...and didn't realize you can lower a pickup too.

What's odd to me; if you look at the pictures of the neck, and frets, there is no wear on the neck, or frets that would coincide with the wear on the pickup... unless the neck is a new replacement, which I would doubt...

It almost seems like someone was fidgety and did that to the pickup on purpose by pushing down on the strings and rocking them back and forth. I mean, assuming that bass was always played left handed, how would the wear happen under the G string? For that matter who even anchors their thumb on the D string that often that would cause that much of a groove?
