These are a crazy good deal. I paid $450 for a used one years back and thought that was a steal. I eventually refinished it, which cost as much as the bass itself. Pictures courtesy of Paulo: https://www.flickr.com/photos/paulohenr ... 4399952542 |

If only it was a 5-string, it would be mine... |

I just bought it! Like I NEED another bass! I think this is number 22. I'll have it in a couple of days.. I'll post my impressions and review then. I even have a lefty Tribute maple neck I bought some years back when they were blowing them out. So, this is a great beater bass... and maybe more! |

One was 'sold out' so I bought the available one- the one in the link you posted is sold out. I think I bought this one. There were two, I wrote down the serial numbers of both... one had a closer, less attractive grained Ash body. this one, the grain looks cool. I won't be disappointed with either. I'm getting it tomorrow evening. Three hundred bucks, and only 15 bucks more for shipping- two day FedEx to Reno.. what a great deal! |

Incredible deals, man. I love those basses. I love my G&L JB-5 and doubt I'll ever buy another Fender guitar or bass since G&L impresses me. |

Excellent stuff! I had one years ago, and missed it so much I had to get another one. I grabbed one from Sweetwater in their scratch and dent sale, but you got an even greater killer deal. Congrats! |

I just got the bass. Man, I have got to say.. this bass, is a killer deal, I'm beyond satisfied! I lucked out, and got the one of the two listed at the time I purchased it, that had the wider, more interesting wood grain. I opened the back up, it seems to have the same preamp I've seen in USA G&L's. I might be wrong about the pots, but all this looks very familiar to me. The pots work counter-clockwise, I prefer the other way, and I mod all my basses to have the controls oriented in this manner. I just did some 'directly out of the box adjustments- almost every guitar and bass does. I adjusted the neck, action, and filed and polished the protruding fret ends. I didn't go all out here, because it IS going to shrink more- this is Nevada, and it's summer. One weird thing- the 'saddle-lok' set screw is missing. I'll just put one in from my stock. I installed a new set of strap loks, and voila' gigging bass! Then- I wanted to HEAR this thing! I plugged into my practice rig, a mixer with my computer sound card in two channels, and the bass trough a Boss GEB-7, and shedded some Lee Morgan. Man.. this bass sounds wonderful. And the treble and bass controls don't really 'boost' per-se, but you can tell they are indeed active. When you dime the 'bass' knob, it seems to have some boost to it. I tried all the settings, and I love the treble boost setting with any pickup combination. Pic included, but you all know what it looks like. I still can't believe it was only 300 bucks.

Awesome stuff! > One weird thing- the 'saddle-lok' set screw is missing. I'll just put one in from my stock. The same thing happened with my last one- I found it in a small bag with the allen wrench. Not sure if this is normal, but you might want to poke around in the packaging just in case. |

I just looked on their site- Yes, that's the current, as of 7/29/21 price. Without getting into the reasons for this nearly doubling of the price, these are still a good deal- were these too good to be true at 300 bucks? I'm thinking I got lucky, and one of the last ones at that price. https://g-l-online-store.myshopify.com/ ... 00-lefty-2 |

I paid around $600 for my L2K tribute in the early 2000’s, and my recent scratch and dent version was still over $500… |

Thanks for the tip- I have the little zip lok bag right in front of me... no set screw. I already went to Home Depot and got one- M4- 0.7 x 12mm. Comes in a pack of two for like, 77 cents. Installed it- can't tell if it made any difference other than keeping all the saddles locked in the correct positions. P.S., they listed this bass as 9.5 pounds. Try 10.5 pounds. I'm not complaining at all- I use Levy's Neoprene or Neo Tech straps. It REALLY helps with basses on the heavy side. I also have discovered Amazon sells the 'import' copies of these wide neoprene straps for under 20 bucks. Not bad, either.. not quite the Levy's but they work just as well. |

Glad you found a replacement! My recent L2K weighs in at 9 lb 14 oz, so a bit shy of your monster, but far from my other 8 lb basses.. |
