Saw these on Anderton’s. Doesn’t look they’re available yet. I’ve read/ heard mixed things (mostly positive to be fair) about Sires in general but these are pretty intriguing. Interesting features though and decent prices. Might be worth checking out, who’s going to be the guinea pig? Nice! I like their take on the 51 P! |

You guys read my mind haha I think the 51 style has landed near the top of my GAS list... I really enjoyed the Harley Benton I had for a minute, would like to get something similar again. That truss rod access gap is a little silly though. I don’t know if they’re still around, their website is kinda clunky, but I know Rio Grande makes a 50’s style pickup. They even did one that was a jazz pickup in that housing that always seemed interesting. Curtis Novak does too I believe. Edit: it looks like the headstock on the D5 (51p) is even undersized to emulate the tele look, great detail! Looks much better than the stock shape I think. |

I hate to add to the pile, but at least it's a positive pile! Yup, '51 for me, too. Looks great. Price seems okay. If the gap for TR adjustment bothered me, I'd blacken the inside in a reversible manner to make it less noticeable. |

I just picked up their passive U5 model, which is a PJ. The P pickup sounds great. Here's a link of the one I got: https://www.musiciansfriend.com/bass/si ... GAQAvD_BwE |

Thinking about this more... I’ve always wanted a 51P. I wonder if the Lollar or Novak pup would drop right in there? Anyhoo... just window shopping now... but how would you order one stateside?! I did a really quick search and nothing was super obvious... |

bhunt1 might be able to answer more accurately since they have one, but I think you can order directly from Sire. Don’t know if Andertons ships to the US. Thomann usually carries Sires too though. I had a good experience with them when I bought the Harley Benton, personally wouldn’t hesitate to buy from them again. I’d be curious about pickup replacement too. I know the bridge at least is proprietary, so no drop in option there if one were so inclined. Same boat here though, just window shopping for now! So few new lefty models this year though (as usual ![]() |

I have an Aguilar 51P pickup installed in a Warmoth Mahogany body and it's the bomb. ![]() |

I dig them all. And if those P basses have a J profile neck, I'm sold. Hope these are available soon. If you order from Sire, you'll have to wait at least 2 months. |

I'm not seeing the D or P series instruments anywhere on their US site yet either. I think the ones Anderton's are showing are preorders, as none of them are in stock lefty or righty and I saw a thread on Talkbass indicating they're not coming until mid-2021. |

I just followed through all the way to check out. (I've been looking for a traditional looking 5 string that doesn't break the bank for some time.) When I put my Canadian address in, it gave me a shipping cost of £93. But it also took off the £80 or so of VAT. Of course, I expect there to be some duty/taxes on my end when it arrives - if I do order it - but that's just life. All of this is to say... I think it can be shipped from the UK to just about anywhere. Could be that Anderton's did a special order run of these in lefty and we may not see them pop up anywhere else. |

How'd you make it all the way to check out? All the lefties (and righties) say, "Out of stock". |

I proceeded to checkout too with the first link and the total was £407 shipped. I then removed it from the cart so yes they'll ship to the USA as well! |
