I'm totally not bothered by the lack of string... but I am concerned about what 15 years of improper tension on the neck might have done to the bass.

Dude, if you're after a high end 5'er and willing to spend $3,000 you really should talk to Rod about a Regenerate. You could get a very custom bass from him built to your specs.

Might be worth getting a price quote from an Alembic dealer for the exact bass this seller has to see what it would actually sell for new.

Yeah, I was going to bring a couple of other ones up as well, but I wasn't 100% on them.

I could see the "tummy contour" but the "elbow contour" is still in question.

It's also kind of hard to tell whether it's polished brass or it is the gold-plated hardware since the pics are so shitty... so I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt.

That does look like a 5A maple top to me as well... that figuring is insane... so I think that one might be right.

Yes, but... those upcharges
You can buy an amazing bass for just the price of a figured maple back on that Alembic :o

Did this person buy his/her own bass again for $4K? This auction is totally fishy...

Me personally I love the basic price at $7200 , before adding some woods to it!!!

Addison, good luck with your search. I used to owned the Roscoe that is for sale on Arni's. It might be a great bass for your taste.
