Wow, saw this on Facebook yesterday... this is up in Alembic-bucks territory.... Sadowski does incredible work, but can anyone please explain what puts this bass in this price range?

I agree on the price, one of the issues I have is this bass is almost too pretty to play out.

I know it’s probably a fantastic instrument, but it’s just a more beautiful JB. My ignorance talking, maybe. I’ve played long enough to have learned that great sound doesn’t have to break the bank. One of the greatest bass sounds and players I’ve ever heard was a guy playing a Squier through an Ampeg. Of course some more costly instruments are worth it…if there’s something you absolutely have to have to get your dream tone. My Martin HD28 vintage reissue is a monster I paid 2200 dollars for in 96. So I’m obviously a bit hypocritical about it. My overall best sounding basses cost less than 2000 though.

I remember this one! I almost bought it from Sadowsky when it first appeared, but by that time I had switched over to playing 5-strings exclusively. And if memory serves, it was somewhere in the $3500/$4500 range.

Looks nice, but I've come to associate spalted maple with cheap basses as it was everywhere in the 2000's. You could have a $200 bass with a spalted maple veneer on the top that would actually look nice too, and since then, to me, it doesn't belong on a $6000 bass :?

It'll be $6000 for the hardware - pre-payment required - thank you :)
