Hi All,

You don't see too many lefty Dark Lords for sale, so figured there might be some interest. I'd say it's priced a little too high at present, however.

I did find it on the serial lookup:

Serial number:
D13501307
Article number:
139405B300BDOFROWWXL
produced:
30.04.2007
Description:
Vampyre Dark Lord, 4-string
Nirvana Black Sanded Oil finish
Ovangkol / French Ash top body
Ovangkol neck
Black hardware
Xtra-Long Left

Made in Germany

I'd disagree with the listing that states it was "Masterbuilt" in Germany. I believe it's a German team-built bass, as it has the JAN-2 plastic nut (as my Corvette did), and all of the Masterbuilt basses come with a brass nut. This may be the disconnect on the price..

This is my old Darklord bass. I know it was mine due to the back. It was refinished. All I can say is if it still original with same electronics, pups.. this bass was one of the biggest, most brutal in your face configs Warwick I ever had. It is also 35" scale. I had it tuned 1 full step down and it was great! The bad: Heavy and you can't really sit and play it on your leg. Where the cutouts are were uncomfortable. I think it balanced well.

This was mine too for some time I remember the tone was amazing but it was very heavy.
I sold it on Ebay at the time for less than half of the current asking price. I couldn't remember the weight so I've asked the seller he replied it's close to 12lbs.
Regardless of the weight it's a very unique bass with a great tone.

I waited for years for this thing to pop back up after foolishly letting Paulo sell it to someone else. Finally found the Vampyre SN and was pleasantly surprised by both the tone and the ergonomics. Maybe it's the weight difference, but my Vampyre feels fine when played seated.

Even so, I'm still a bit tempted by this one. But does a guy like me really need two Vampyres? :D
