Man, always wanted me one of these. Anyone ever get to compare the Hellcat VI to the Eastwood Sidejack Bass VI? (I personally like the look of the Eastwood better.)
I like the look of the Eastwood too, but imo the schecters have better pickups and hardware.
This one is especially cool 'cause of the three mini humbuckers, which have been replaced by single coils in the latest version. The humbuckers are real fat sounding, while the sc's have a thinner, stratlike tone.
I briefly owned a Hellcat VI with three single coils, but the string spacing was too guitar- like for me. Sounded great with a pick and chording was easy.
6 string e to e shortscales are kind of specialty basses you're not going to use all the time but are nice to have in your arsenal. Good to have for studio work too. Another sound you can bring to the table.
