I got an email from them that they still have some nice US Lefty Fender USA bodies on sale. I got one and built a strat however they still have some nice Jazz and P bass bodies on sale.

Those guys are indeed great and those American bodies for that price are no joke. I bought a lefty Strat body as well as a P-bass body and they were top notch, new in the box. Great stuff.

mmm this has got me seriously considering picking one up. my MIM jazz bass is a boat anchor and it keeps me from playing it, but if i swap out the body, i imagine it would be lighter.

any ideas how much they weigh on average?

I got one of the Jazz bodies (red) back when they first offered them. They are very nice and that price for a finished body is a great deal.
