That's a really nice looking bass from the front but they need to match the wood better. Yikes!

That looks like it might be a maple tone block with ash body wings. F Bass does that too... as do other builders. So perhaps that is a feature, rather than a flaw. Anybody else care to chime in?

I think it looks really nice and would definitely go for it, the price is fair too and the seller is open for offers so who knows? Someone could get it for $300 bucks!
I am not in the market for another bass but I was always curious to try one of these. Good deal.

Sold on 4/16... no idea if it sold for the listing price... just looked at an old picture of the ATK300L I used to have, and although the grain is matched much better on mine, I can see the wings are sandwiched to another piece... which isn't noticeable from the front...

Fivebass52 I would say that is a much better match. More like one would expect IMO. Tim that one you found looks to be a two piece body. Perhaps because its older?

Looks three piece to me, with two parts well matched.

Yes, until this thread, I just assumed the body was a two-piece. Now that I'm seeing all the others recently listed, there seems to be a Maple(?) center piece, which I'm assuming was done to allow for the pickup routing, and for added tone... ? Remember, these were built to compete with the MusicMan Stingrays of the day....so the middle hardwood may have been done to give them an extra boost in the high-end...

Interesting that they're "popping" at all.. as there has been a dry spell on lefties for the last two years or so... but you are right, along with the one I recently sold to another member in a private sale, there has been the Slipknot model listed a few months ago, and now these two... that's almost like saying there's been a glut in the market!

Don't think I'll ever part with my ATK305L though, it took me three years to find through eBay Germany, with the help of another member who lives in The Netherlands to bid for me, receive it, break it down and ship it to Hawaii... quite a process!

Interesting though, looking at the back of my 305L, there's no middle piece, but - you can see a little to the right where the two pieces of wood were joined...

Full frontal...

And, what the hell - ATK porn.... Amber (since sold), Brown Smoke, Black Sparkle...

OK, I"m done! :)

Thanks! Although I sold the amber recently, I can't imagine selling the other two...
