No picture yet, but if this is real, someone needs to snag it ASAP!

Mine :D

I was about to leave a comment to the effect of, at that price, just buy it and return it if something's amiss. But then I thought, "Yeah, that's a pretty good idea." I'm having it shipped to a GC that's a block from my office. If anything is wrong with it, I'll leave it there. It was listed in "great condition," though.

But here's the thing: Ric's are generally so far out of my budget that I'd never really considered buying one and know nothing about them. So, for the Ric experts here, I have two questions:

(1) What can I expect from my new 4003? E.g.: what does it do? What's its niche in the Ric pantheon? How do I make it sound like it should?

(2) And what do I look for when I pick it up to make sure it's legit and free of irreparable defects? Any gremlins particular to this model?

Man I didn't see it, but I figured that would be the case at that price.

Billw97: do you know something I don't? GC hadn't even uploaded pictures yet. Did they never make a lefty in white?

I figure yeah, at that price, something's gotta be up. But it's no risk to me. Worst case is I waste a lunch hour checking it out.

Sorry Tim,

The picture is now up for the link. First thing that caught my eye was the neck joint. Then bridge, bridge pickup, tuners and etc. I wish that it wasn't for your sake.......Sorry man.

Don't know where it went but i've posted and cannot see so gonna post it again:
I'm so surprised to see a such big chain post a fake bass for sale. I would assume they knew it was a fake and tried to rip off some poor lefty cause they assume it would not be noticed. Otherwise if the bass was really original they would never sell it for that price. They probably gave it a shot and in worst case scenario they would just say "sorry, there was a mistake on the listing or whatever" you can return it.

I'm on the horn with GC now.

When the rep looked up the listing, he saw it listed as "Misc. Left-Handed Bass White." I sent him screen captures from my phone and my computer of the original listing.

So it seems like GC caught the issue, but not until after I placed the order.

Oh well. No Ricky for Timmy this year.

Now down to $350. Maybe I'm just bitter, but that still seems steep :D
