This is interesting the bass is all passive with various coil options. I am not sure if it's better than stock or not, but it is interesting the ideas people come up with:

Cool mods. Rotary switches for pickup selection are very popular with several German luthiers, like Lefay and Boerjes.

Does seem like a hefty price for a used Rockbass. I bought my German-made Warwick for less. Although the prices here are usually lower because the Netherlands are right next to Germany, and you're an entire ocean away.

That's cool. I have a similar mod brewing in the back of my mind for my L2000. I'd like to explore some single coil settings as well as both active and passive pickup blending (rather than just switching). There are so many possibilities in a $$ setup, and something about L2000 platform makes a surprisingly large number of them workable. I wouldn't doubt that a Warwick would work well, too, although I haven't listened to any sound clips or anything.
