Hi Folks:
Don't know how much you all care for the UBasses, but I was able to get my hands on one and play it at Bill's Music House in Catonsville, MD, near Baltimore. I know someone (Fivebass maybe) was looking around for another UBass. The bass was new out of the box. I was the first person to have ever played it. Played it for about an hour hoping it could become a travel bass for me. Price was $414, listed at $450 on ebay, but they can and will negotiate.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Kala-KA-UBASS-2 ... 4cfebb2122I feel the same way about the UBass that I do about Musicman basses, fun bass and well made, just not for me. The bass was very well constructed, and I would have taken it home if I had the skill to play it well. Strings did not pose a problem for me as I am used to playing with TI flats.
Hope this helps.
