Very cool bass but too much for me right now. It's amazing, I bought my first P bass in 1980 and it's a 72. I paid $350.00 for it.

Right up there at the top end of market value... in this economy, might be awhile before it sells... but you never know!

A very similar bass also in the UK can be found on G-Base, they are almost identical outside of one has a different bridge.

They are one and the same. Look at the wear on the upper body edge. Also there's a mark under the E string tuner on the headstock. Exactly the same.

Same bass, different prices - GBP 2,899, and GBP 2,699. Two different sellers (Hanks Guitars, and Music Ground Inc.), two different phone numbers, but the addresses are 24, and 27 Denmark Street, London. Think they're in cahoots together? Two shops run by one family or business? Curious......

The ebay listing has Music Ground listed at the top of the auction description.

Sounds like Hank offered to sell it as well, at a higher price, so they can make a small commission in case it sells through their listing. Nothing wrong with that, but it just shows that a buyer has to do his homework to ensure he's going to get the best price.

Looks like the bass that was for sale at Mormusic until recently for £2,200 if I remember. Someone's trying to make a quick buck.

It being a Music Ground item, I would not touch it with a 10 ft pole. Look around on the 'net for what they sell as vintage Hiwatt heads and cabs. I would not be surprised at all if this bass was a forgery.
