Nice looking bass, but a bit short on details.
A 'standard' VB5 retails for about $400 more than the asking price.
What I'd like to know is what type of finish is on there as well as the wood choice, as that can add significant $$$ to the build price.

I think I saw that bass pop up a few times on leftybass.com too in the past 2 years.

Direct price new with upgraded top which it has would be about $3225 without shipping. So $2,400 might be a little high I agree but it is a rare bird and you would be waiting till it got cold out agin untill you got one. Never saw one on ebay before. Not a body shape I dig but I bet it rips. I sold Eugene a Lakland before and he is a good buyer and seller if anyone cares. Looks like maybe a walnut top but dunno for shure.

If he put the word "bass" in his title he'd probably have a much better chance generating interest.

Small resemblance to this old Kinal that I had built back in the 80's. All wood neck through however.

it's BAAAAAACK! and at a much more reasonable price. But it's only a 24 hour auction

http://cgi.ebay.com/LEFT-HANDED-ZON-VB5-LEFTY-BASS-/170643254960?pt=Guitar&hash=item27bb216eb0

it's also on CL for $1900.
