With the dollar so weak now and the unlikelihood that Fender will offer the lefty Jaguar basses in the states anytime soon, these may be the only options, at least for appearance.

Here's the full scale model:

and here's the short scale model:

At $149, it might be fun to take the plunge. ;)

So, are SX freakin particle board or what? If the wood in these is halfway decent I'll grab one of these here pretty soon.

You'd be very surprised at how nicely these are made. Well worth the $. Check out their mega-thread at talkbass.com :)

Yeah, but TB is full of people who think their gear is great because it's THEIR gear and they don't know any better. :)

I've wanted a jag style bass for quite a while...

According to the description, it's an alder body with a maple neck/rosewood board, same specs as the real Jaguars. Without all the Jaguar switches, it looks like all other specs are standard Jazz, i.e. the PUP sizes, etc. so I think it's basically a Jazz bass with a Jaguar body (which may or may not be an improvement, having never heard the Jaguar basses, I can't comment on how they sound).

I stand corrected: the description says the PUPS are 3-5/8 x 3/4", which is the same size as the neck PUP on a standard J. Which means if you wanted to replace them you'd need TWO neck J PUPs of the same dimension, since the bridge PUP on a standard J is bigger (3/3/4 x 3/4" I believe).

I have an SX PBass copy ($109). Just as nice as anything else I've seen in the $200-300 range. Change the pups, if you want, and away you go.
