These are absolutely gorgeous! http://guitarz.blogspot.com/2013/03/fen ... -rare.html The righties are even sweeter without the pickguard (http://www.musiciansfriend.com/bass/fen ... -jazz-bass) and it sucks that they are so much more affordable than the lefties, but I guess that's just genetics. Even though I have a better chance of getting struck by lightning, I figured I would see if anyone might have one they are willing to part with before I fork over the dough to get one shipped in from Japan via eBay. Bassaria was selling one earlier this year, but I'm about 8 months too late! Price will vary depending on color and condition. Of the four offered, my favorite is probably the US Gun Metal Blue (UGB), but the only color I am really not interested in is the white. Perhaps we also could work a trade plus cash for my '79 Rickenbacker 4001, which plays fine and has no major cosmetic flaws, but has seen better days. I'd also love to hear any thoughts or opinions you might have on this instrument. |

I tried a lefty in a store in Japan. I can't say anything bad about it, although it didn't stand out in terms of quality from any other recent Japanese Fender I've used (which is good). The sound was more distinct: a louder, ballsier version of the standard P/J. It's a rock n' roll instrument for sure. |
