As the title says, old or new. If you got a set you'll part with let me know.

Like these I have in my SX Jaguar bass, correct Andrew? (I think these are the old vintage ones.)

Cream color aside for a moment-- in general, are you aware of any tone difference between the old vintage 70's-80's PAF stickered model Js (see pics) and the new ones? I can't personally verify, but I've read somewhere that the vintage 70's-80's model J's with the silver screws have a lot more high end than the new more modern black screw version, which although they sound good are lacking in high end by comparison, while the older ones are just right.

None of my business but just curious- what are you planning to put them in?

Those are the ones Carmine.

I'm gathering the bits for a future parts build.

Got another set? :)

I don't think so, but I'll dig around the parts bins and see.

My knowledge and memory on these older 70's Dimarzio pups is they were wound "very" hot, or hotter/aggressive like the late 70's P bass pup is. I have one I was going to install in my 70's P but decided to leave it all stock. The singles would sound great in a passive bass.

I don't understand why the new PU manufacters don't have adjustable screws like these for the poles. It is so brilliant and useful for individual output leveling. Ken Smith is still doing that. I used to have those pickups on my 75 P-Bass. I don't where it is now :-(

I had a set on my Jazz before deciding to go with QP's; the set I got had been painted over, and the pole screws were rusted, but I was able to get a new set of screws from DiMarzio, and some cream replacement covers and made them look like now. FYI, in case you're passing over 'ugly' sets.
